Obituary

Ronald J. Rose, Sr., 69, of Fredonia, N.Y., died Friday January 18, 2019 after a brief illness at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born on March 8, 1949 to William and Theresa Bean Rose. Ronald proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1967-1969 as a United States Marine Corporal and received several medals and citations for meritorious conduct including a Purple Heart. He retired from First Student, was a member of the Fredonia Beaver Club and Cassadaga American Legion and was a longtime avid New York Yankee and Buffalo Bills fan.
Ronald is survived by: his wife, Cassie Nolan Rose and children: Peggy Fox (Jeff Baker) of Edwards, N.Y., Rhonda (Richard) Mapes, of Fredonia, N.Y., Ronald J. Rose, Jr. (Julie Gambino) of Orlando, FL. and Melissa Rose (late William Keech) of Cassadaga, N.Y.; grandchildren: Brandyn and Lindsey Fox, Cassandra, Matty, Krystie and Isabella Mapes, Nicholas Rose, Robyn (Michael) Coughlin, Amanda and Tyler Keech, Destiny and Kayla Rose; also three great grandchildren, three sisters, a cousin, Lola Schanzlin, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by: grandparents Harold and Emily Sheldon and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held announced at a later date. Arrangements by David J. Dengler, LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home.
