Obituary

Louis B. Meyers, age 74, of Cassadaga, N.Y., died Sunday June 16, 2019 at his home with his loving family at his side. Louis was born in Jamestown to Raymond and Lucille Smith Meyers. He grew up in Cassadaga, attended Cassadaga Valley schools and graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School in 1962. Following high school, he continued his education at Erie Community College where he earned an associate’s degree. Louis was rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He had many interests, as he enjoyed fishing, golf, bowling and reading.

Louis is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Nancy Truesdale Meyers; a daughter, Shelley (Joseph) Meyer of Springville, a son Jack Meyers of Cassadaga; step-daughters: Ginger (Roger) Cardot of Arkwright, Julie (Scott) Dewberry of Pittsburgh, PA. and Jacqueline (Late Victor) Rivera of Fredonia; grandchildren: Adam and Ava Meyers; step-grandchildren: Holly Connor, Heather Harris, Brennen and Parker Rivera; great-grandchildren: Gracie and Gavin Meyers and a step-grandchild, Layla Conner; a sister Bonnie (Karl) Konnerth. Besides his parents, Louis is pre-deceased by his step-grandson, Hunter Rivera.

Visitation hours are Thursday from 6-8 pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 am. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions in Mr. Meyers’ memory may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
