Obituary

Phillip Joseph Begier, 59, of Irving, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2020. He was born to the late Arthur and Mary (Bialaszewski) Begier in Dunkirk, N.Y. on March 18, 1960.

Phil attended Dunkirk High School and later worked at INX International for over 30 years. He enjoyed his social memberships and friends at the Conservation Club, The Beaver Club, The First Ward Falcons, WW2 Vets and The Moniuszko Club.

In his spare time he was always looking to get out on the boat to fish, up in his tree stand to hunt and liked to be on the ice for a good hockey game.

Phil is survived by his loving companion Andrea Turton; four children: Shannon (Paul) Hawk of Fredonia, NY, Shawn (Jessica Sobczak) Begier of Fredonia, NY, Megan (Thomas Lutz) Begier of Fredonia, NY; Miranda Begier of Brocton, NY; a stepson D.J. Wilson; 7 grandchildren: Ava Hawk, Jay Hawk, Eli Hawk, Ila Hawk, Joseph Begier, Emma Begier, Issac Lawton and a sweet four legged friend, his chihauhua Milo.

He is also survived by 3 sisters: Carol (Ronald) Dechard, Donna (Fred) Nimmon, and Kathleen Briggs; a brother, Edward (Gloria) Begier, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm pm Wednesday January 29 at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish (St. Hyacinth’s Church) on Lakeshore Drive in Dunkirk on Thursday January 30 at 10am. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dunkirk, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests taking a moment to raise your glass and reflect on a favorite memory shared with Phil. On-line condolences may be made at larsontimkofuneralhome.com. Arrangements by David J. Dengler, LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 716-679-9000.
