R.I.P. my dear friend. I will always remember when you Invited me and two other friends to your house to watch Television (color television) after school one day. You always were a good friend to me and I really appreciated it. While others teased me at times calling me "Kruzchev", you always called by my rightful name. To top it off when you introduced me to your brother Lou he informed me that not everybody was so lucky to have such special name as Louie. That put a big smile on my face and I felt like I had made new friend. God bless your family and know that you will always be a treasured friend to me. I never liked being called "Kruchev" but now I prefer "Gweege". Til we meet again R.I.P. my treasured friend.

Dear Calanni family,

Around 1967 my family moved to the “Little Italy” section of Fredonia where for recreation we played a lot of baseball at the Prospect st. Field.
Probably through his best buddy Joe Sorci did we become acquainted with our love of sports. I remember him as an excellent fielder and competent hitter who had an infectious laugh and good nature to him. I’ll never forget crushing his opening pitch during a little league game when I was advised by substitute manager Bennie Carrie to swing at the first pitch. It sailed deeply over the center field wall. Our Carl Vincent team lost that day but we each gained sizable respect for each other. He continued to play baseball while I turned to track in high school. We also were teammates on the FHS football teams wher his athleticism was evident as a wide receiver.
Again he was a very good person who loved to laugh and play sports who was never mean and most importantly was a stellar Italian athlete with a infectious good heart. God speed and I will miss him.

With sympathy,
Vince Fogarty
