Born in Buffalo, N.Y. on June 29, 1935, Theresa was raised on the old “West Side”. She developed her strong work ethic at age 13 working at her uncle’s dry-cleaning store. After she married her loving husband of 57 years, Eugene “Gene” Laiose, she worked at the Continental Can Company before starting a family. Theresa was a longtime employee of AM&A’s at the Delaware Sheridan Plaza. In 1986, Gene and Terry moved to Syracuse, N.Y., where she worked for McCarthy & Associates until her retirement.
Terry enjoyed talking to people and her beautiful smile shined when she greeted you. She would have no problem striking up conversations with complete strangers. Her pride and joy were her three loving daughters, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Terry was famous for her coffee cake that was enjoyed by those lucky enough to receive some of it. She would play lottery religiously and enjoyed a good cup of coffee. Terry was always on the move, whether it was to shop, dine out with her husband Gene or go to church on Saturday evenings at St. Rose of Lima in North Syracuse, N.Y.
Theresa was predeceased by her loving husband Gene, her sister Katherine Palmeri and her parents Anthony and Nicolina Palmeri.
Survivors include her three daughters: Gina (Michael) Laiose Weiner, Ann Marie (Paul) Laiose Barton and Kathy (Heath) Forster; six grandchildren: Jessica (Jason) Foreman, Jared (Marjorie) Weiner, Matthew Barton, Nicolina Barton, Cameron Forster and Jack Forster and four great-grandchildren: Matilda Foreman, Calla Foreman, Eleanor Weiner and Charles Weiner.
A Memorial Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Fredonia will be held and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, N.Y. 14787 (caninerescue.org). Arrangements by David J. Dengler LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home.
